Catwings is a beloved children's chapter book published in 1988, and has charmed millions of readers since. My cover illustration for this book focuses on the clandestine nature of the catwings' life in the city, where they must stay hidden to stay safe. Illustrated digitally in photoshop, the use of textured elements and muted colors represent the city environment the characters initially live in.
